Prologue

Where a medicine becomes a promise

Based in Kinshasa since its creation, MARIANEPHAR has built a recognised expertise in pharmaceutical distribution, laboratory representation and regulatory access to the Congolese market. But a company that only distributes what others make remains dependent on what it does not control — so it has chosen to take control of its own value chain, step by step.

From a pharmaceutical distributor to an integrated player in the value chain, and then to a local pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Our trajectory

Three acts

Three acts, one direction

Every solid story is built in stages. Ours has three: each extends the one before, none disowns it.

Act IThe foundation

Distribute

Pharmaceutical distribution, laboratory representation, regulatory access to the Congolese market: the original trade, still the beating heart of the house.

Act IIThe turning point

Contract-manufacture

A contract-manufacturing activity for medicines, with international industrial partners, notably in India: MARIANEPHAR now takes part in the design of its own products.

Act IIIThe horizon

Manufacture

In time, becoming a local pharmaceutical manufacturing laboratory, able to produce medicines within the country that meet international quality standards.

Each act calls for an organisation to match: clear governance, independent quality assurance, and a unit dedicated to industrial affairs.

Chapter I

The people of the house

A house is known by those who carry it. Four roles hold the course: one keeps watch, one leads, one supplies, one equips.

Portrait of MARIANEPHAR's Founding Chairman

The one who keeps watch

Founding Chairman & Responsible Pharmacist

General Manager · Trained pharmacist

Guarantor of MARIANEPHAR's institutional direction and long-term future, the Founding Chairman also serves as Responsible Pharmacist: an independent authority over everything that touches the quality, safety and compliance of products.

A pharmacist by training, he built MARIANEPHAR on one conviction: when it comes to medicines, rigour is never optional. From distribution to today's industrial partnerships, the house has grown while keeping the same course — putting quality medicines within reach of Congolese people.

Portrait of MARIANEPHAR's Managing Director

The one who leads

Managing Director

Engineer trained in polytechnic studies

At the head of the executive team, the Managing Director turns strategic direction into action plans, allocates resources, chairs the Management Committee and ensures coordination across all directorates.

An engineer trained in polytechnic studies, the Managing Director brings the house a culture of method: structure, measure, decide. It falls to the Managing Director to turn a vision into action plans, and an industrial ambition into milestones met.

The one who supplies

Deputy Managing Director

Alongside the Managing Director, the Deputy takes direct responsibility, by delegation, for purchasing and supply: tenders, negotiations, supplier performance and the traceability of every purchasing decision.

The one who equips

Head of Diagnostics & Medical Supplies

At the head of the Diagnostics & Medical Supplies directorate, they grow MARIANEPHAR's range of diagnostic equipment, laboratory reagents and medical consumables, serving the country's laboratories, hospitals and health facilities.

Chapter II

The oath

Our golden rule

“No commercial, financial or logistical consideration can force the distribution of a product whose compliance has not been established.”
It gives the Responsible Pharmacist the final say on any block, recall or non-release based on pharmaceutical compliance.
01

Independent quality

The Quality Directorate answers to no commercial, purchasing or finance function: it alone can block a non-compliant distribution.

02

Constant vigilance

Complaints and adverse reactions are collected, assessed and reported to the health authorities within regulatory deadlines.

03

The cold chain under watch

Temperature readings and qualification of refrigeration equipment: any storage anomaly is escalated to Quality immediately.

Chapter III

The company

Ten directorates, each with its own mission and its own head. Pick one to see what it carries.

The ten directorates

Epilogue

The story goes on

This ambition answers challenges that go beyond a single company. It serves a country.

  • Reduce dependence on imported pharmaceutical products.

  • Improve the availability and affordability of medicines.

  • Strengthen the security of the supply chain.

Every batch delivered on time, every regulatory file followed through writes one more page.
